Chad Arron Nienhueser was born to Martin and Krysti (Carlson) Nienhueser on July 22, 1982. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church – South Divide and enjoyed his youth on the family farm. Chad attended Sidney Public Schools, graduating in May 2001. While in high school he participated in football, wrestling, SKILLS-USA (VICA), State SKILLS competition, Science Club, and the “S” Club. He was named to the National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High School Students and was given the Rotary Student of the Year award.

Following graduation, he attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, majoring in Civil Engineering. At Tech, Chad maintained his active lifestyle, participating in Triangle Fraternity and serving as Chairman of their Leadership and Development team. He also served as Financial Chair of the Student Association and held multiple offices in the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was initiated into Order of Omega Greek Honor Society.

Chad served as a tutor at Tech, and he was employed as a civil engineer for Pennington County Road Department in Rapid City.

Chad loved life to its fullest, making lasting impressions on everyone that he met and a positive impact in his community.

Chad is survived by his parents, Martin and Krysti, brother Shaun and Sister Ericka, all of Sidney. His grandparents include Vearn and Beverly Nienhueser of Sidney, NE, and Warren and Eleanor Carlson of Sterling, CO; and several aunts and uncles.

Chad, your service, leadership, and above all friendship will always be remembered on our campus. Not only were you a connoisseur of great music and beverages, but you also took in and appreciated everything that life had to offer. We greatly appreciate all the sacrifices you made to make this campus and our house better. We will never forget your friendship and brotherhood. Rest in peace, Brother!
